Leisure truly is the Basis of Culture

If this site has been woefully lagging in posts, it is not because I am doing a study on what happens to people who have no leisure. It just fell out this way the past few months. Nevertheless, I have experiential evidence that someone without 1-3 hours of daily unscheduled freetime will read no history, philosophy, or literature, write no papers, research nothing--neither education, music, recipes, culture--will learn no new songs, read no poetry, take few walks (and few photographs), gaze on no stars, watch no clouds, attend few concerts and plays, hold few conversations, and think little about much of anything beyond whatever tasks have crowded into the leisure time. This is NOT a good way to live, not human, not Christian Integration. If you have five free minutes, live differently!
