2010-2011 School Year Resolution V (for teachers, parents, youth ministers, etc.)

“It is not utopian to expect intellectual growth in every term of teaching. The teacher who has stopped learning is a deadening influence.”
--Mortimer Adler, The Paideia Proposal: An Educational Manifesto (New York: The Macmillan Company, 1982), 59.

To this end, what about one new book per subject per year?

As I am teaching medieval and modern European history, it seems time to tackle Eamon Duffy's The Stripping of the Altars.  The Atlantic Monthly gave a great review of this book here.  If you are looking for something historical, here is a list to get you started.
